Monitoring – Bringing Data to Life

May 22, 2012

Kim Smyly presented on some of the new monitoring and analytics capabilities coming down the road for AWD. This new functionality and interface allows AWD users to take control of their own data and share it in meaningful ways.

New monitoring dashboards, charts and reports are interactive, linking directly to underlying transaction. Line of business fields in dashboards and reports can be client-created with the company’s own data (a development that drew cheers and clapping from the audience as well as several excited tweets!).

Analytics are now visually pleasing AND actionable, even intuitive.  With style sheets, report colors, fonts and formats can now be easily customized.

The report creation interface couldn’t be easier, featuring a drag & drop menu. The report can be as simple or complex as you want it – just decide what type of report you need and what data it should include. Reports can be broken down into easily digestable, shareable info blocks using filters.  Custom data formats are easily to designate – you can include HTML, URLs and even conditional formatting such as different color text for specific values.

For those with less-than-expert math skills, the new interface has a wizard for math functionality and pivot tables for sums and graphs.

The result is a more user-friendly report. This new approach to monitoring allows companies to be transparent and agile. No need to request a report – you can filter and sort data easily from your desk for instant feedback.

In today’s business environment, you must have a strategic plan to do something with your data. Otherwise, there is no reason to track it. Monitoring allows for better, faster and simpler use of that data.
