AWD Awards U.S. Bancorp the 2011 Process Excellence Award

AWD is proud to announce this year’s Process Excellence Award has been awarded to U.S. Bank’s Fund Services Group. U.S. Bank’s Fund Services Group is constantly looking for ways to improve efficiencies and exceed the expectations of their customers.


U.S Bancorp implemented DST’s AWD solution to automate the classification of all inbound shareholder mail. Engaging the AWD Professional Services Team, the U.S. Bank team analyzed the current mail handling process. DST and U.S Bancorp identified over 400 business rules that applied to the paperwork received by the fund services group on behalf of clients on a daily basis.

With AWD,  U.S. Bancorp now automatically classifies 70% of the items received. U.S. Bancorp has reduced the preparation time of work items within the fund services group by 50%, allowing the re-allocation of five full-time staff members to customer touch points – thus improving the entire customer experience. As a result, U.S. Bancorp Funds Services was able to achieve a Best-In-Class rating for Shareholder Correspondence in late 2010. With AWD, funds services maintains a 99%+ accuracy rating with the routing of all financial transactions.
